India-South Korea Discuss India's Gaming Boom with KRAFTON Chairman

KRAFTON, Inc. Chairman, Byung Gyu (BG) Chang, recently met Amit Kumar, Ambassador of India to the Republic of Korea and Nishi Kant Singh, Deputy Chief of Mission to the Republic of Korea at the company’s Seoul headquarters. KRAFTON India CEO, Sean Hyunil Sohn, was also present at the meeting. KRAFTON India is the publisher of India’s most loved mobile game- BATTLEGROUNDS MOBILE INDIA (BGMI) along with other popular games such as Road To Valor: Empires, Defense Derby and NEW STATE MOBILE.

As India-South Korea celebrate 50 years of Diplomatic Relations, Indian Diplomats to South Korea and Chairman of gaming company KRAFTON, Inc. Discussed about India’s thriving gaming ecosystem and KRAFTON’s Focus on Indian Market

The focal points of the meeting revolved around the celebration of the 50th anniversary of India-Korea diplomatic relations and the increased investments made by KRAFTON in India. Throughout the discussions, the Indian Ambassador highlighted the government’s dedication to nurturing the entertainment and gaming industry and supporting the growth of startups. This aligns closely with KRAFTON’s continuous investments in India. To further strengthen the relationship between India and South Korea, KRAFTON is planning to organize India-Korea Invitational matches in October 2023, where the top gaming teams from both countries will participate in BGMI matches hosted in India.

BG Chang emphasized the importance of the Indian market for KRAFTON, underscoring his vision of the company’s expansion coinciding with India’s advancement. He stressed the significance of collaborations between the two countries to enrich India’s gaming ecosystem and bring fresh gaming encounters to Indian gamers. Additionally, he mentioned that KRAFTON’s approach in India is firmly rooted in the resilient growth of the conventional gaming sector, which maintains a thriving trajectory with a double-digit increase.

This gathering represents another encouraging advancement in the relationship between India and Korea, highlighting KRAFTON’s dedication to expanding its influence and activities in India. It signifies a noteworthy stride towards fostering deeper cooperation in commemoration of the 50th anniversary of diplomatic ties between India and Korea, and in contributing to the growth of the gaming industry in India.
