India beats West Indies by 8 runs and won the three-series match in Kolkata.

Match Highlights

The West Indies pair Nicholas Pooran and Rovman Powell had shown their powerful techniques at the Eden Gardens that even challenged India for the victory but Harshal Patel and Bhuvaneshwar Kumar helped India snatch the win. India won the game by eight runs and took a lead of 2-0 series.

India didn’t begin at a good note as they lost Ishan Kishan but Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli helped the team revive with their 46-run partnership. Kohli scored his 30th half-century in T20I.

The Windies spinners made the Indian team struggle as they dismissed Rohit and Suryakumar Yadav successively. Kohli returned to the pavilion soon after hitting his 50th century. Roston Chase picked his third wicket and the fiery 75-run stand between Rishabh Pant and Venkatesh Iyer helped India recover and reach a target of 186/5 in 20 overs. Bishnoi took two wickets for 17 runs in four overs in his first International game.

Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma have an equal number of half centuries for India now

Kohli scored 52 runs in 41 balls before losing his wicket to Roston Chase in the 14th over of the innings.

Kohli scored his 30th half-century in T20Is. He has now equalled Rohit Sharma’s tally of most fifty-plus scores in T20I cricket. While Kohli achieved this in 89 innings, which is 24 innings faster than Rohit.
