Ind vs Eng: England face huge blow as Stuart Broad will miss the entire Test Series

The English side has faced a big blow as Stuart Broad won’t take a part in the upcoming test match against India. Moreover, he will miss the entire series. As a result, Broad’s injury means that England will now be without three of their best performing players with Ben Stokes and Jofra Archer being the first two players to be ruled out of the series.

“ECB declared on their page that Stuart Broad has sustained a tear to his right calf and has been ruled out of the LV = Insurance test series against India. He underwent an MRI scan in London on Wednesday lunchtime, which revealed a tear.”

Broad sustained the injury during the warm-up on Tuesday afternoon at Lord’s. England have called up Lancashire seamer Saqib Mahmmod as cover.”

Getting into specifics, Stuart Broad felt discomfort in his calf during the warm-ups and net session ahead of the second Test at Lord’s. Broad was supposed to play his 150th Test Match and it would be a huge landmark and that too at the Mecca of Cricket. Unfortunately, an injury has forced him to miss out. Nonetheless, cricket fans will expect him to come stronger and play his 150th career test match in his next series.

Before the start of the Test Series, the English side has been hit with a series of bad luck. This is because Jofra Archer was ruled out for a year. He was supposed to be part of a deadly bowling trio that featured Anderson and Broad along with him.

Following this news, England was set to play without their biggest all-rounder for the entire test series. Ben Stokes decided to take rest due to mental health issues and withdraw from the series. As a result, England lost Stokes and Archer, arguably their two big match winner’s.

Now Broad’s injury would mean that England have to completely depend on the experience of James Anderson. Subsequently, the entire burden of the bowling attack will come on him.

Therefore according to some reports, Mark Wood is likely to replace Stuart Broad and as a result, the English side will miss the services of a bankable player but would hope Wood does well to cover his absence for the rest of the series.
