Hyderabad FC defeated ATK Mohun Bagan 3-1 in the first leg of their semifinal encounter. Here are the three talking points from the game.
Hyderabad FC complete comeback
Roy Krishna scored the first goal of the game, giving ATK Mohun Bagan the lead in the 18th minute. But, his side would not be able to hold the advantage for the rest of the game.
Upon returning to the starting line-up, Bartholomew Ogbeche scored right before half time to level things up and send the two teams into the tunnel. And it all started from scratch in the second half. Quick goals from Mohammad Yasir and Javi Siverio helped give them a two-goal advantage shortly after the hour mark.
ATK Mohun Bagan unlucky to get only one goal
The Mariners had a number of great chances throughout the game. But apart from the opener, it wasn’t their day in front of goal. Kiyan Nassiri hit the post in the final minutes of the game, which summed up their woes in terms of finishing. And as a result, they walk into the return leg with a huge task ahead of them.
One foot in the final
With a two-goal lead, the highest scoring team in the ISL this season have a big advantage heading into the return leg. With Bart Ogbeche leading the line, we can expect more goals in the next game as well. And for Juan Ferrando’s men, a dramatic comeback is needed for them to qualify for a second consecutive ISL final.
