Huawei has finally launched the refreshed MateBook D14 and D15 laptops with AMD Ryzen 5000 series mobile processors silently after launching the Huawei MateBook 16 with Ryzen 5000H processors. So, essentially, nothing has changed regarding design, display and other specs except the AMD Ryzen processors.
So, like the Intel variants, both the laptops will be equipped with the Zen 2 refreshed Ryzen 5000U APUs. To be specific, you get to choose between the 6 core/12 thread Ryzen 5 5500U and the 8 core/16 thread Ryzen 7 5700U. This is paired with 16GB RAM and 512GB NVMe SSD.
While the Huawei MateBook D15 features a 15.6-inch full-HD IPS LCD display, the MateBook D14 comes with a 14-inch FHD display covering 100% sRGB colour gamut and supports eye protection technology.Â
For ports, you have a USB Type-C port with charging support, one micro HDMI, one 3.5 mm audio jack and two USB-A (one is 2.0, the other is 3.2). You do get WiFi 6Â & Bluetooth 5.1 for connectivity; the laptops sport a battery capacity of 56Wh which should give decent battery life.
The front-facing camera has been hidden yet again in a dedicated button on the keyboard to make the laptop look almost bezel-less. There will be two colour options for the laptops – Silver or Deep Space Gray, whereas the market availability is set for June 1st with pricing:
