Snapdragon 778G-equipped Huawei Pocket S is currently the least expensive foldable smartphone

Huawei unveiled its newest foldable smartphone during an event in China. They introduced the Huawei Pocket S, a less expensive foldable with a footprint similar to the P50 Pocket but a less capable CPU and cameras.

Huawei Pocket S specifications

Huawei Pocket S features 2790 x 1188 pixels with a 6.9″ OLED internal screen. It is capable of a 300Hz touch sampling rate, 120Hz refresh rate, and 1440Hz PWM. Along with this, it comes with LTE connectivity with a powerful chipset Snapdragon 778G.

It comes with the same 10.7 MP sensor as the P50 Pocket, the selfie camera is housed inside a punch hole. A circular OLED display with a 1.04″ diameter and 340 x 340 resolution is located directly below the cameras on the lid.

A 13 MP ultrawide-angle camera and a 40 MP camera with an RYYB sensor are both housed on the cover. A sensor for laser AF has been installed in place of the P50 Pocket’s 32MP sensor.

As expected considering that the phone would initially be released in China, the user interface is Harmony OS 3.0. It allows customizations for the cover screen’s AOD capabilities and comes with a tonne of pre-installed applications targeted at the local market.

An incredibly thin, flexible graphite layer is installed in the Huawei Pocket S to enhance cooling. A 40W quick charging 4,000 mAh battery is present. The manufacturer claimed that in testing, the hinge’s wing mechanism had been opened and closed 400,000 times, demonstrating its longevity.

The Pocket S is available from Huawei in five simple colours, as opposed to the P50 Pocket’s sophisticated gradients and patterns. Users have the option of purchasing the foldable in Black, Ice Crystal Blue, Rose Pink, Gold Yellow, and Mint Green.
