At the Innovative Product Launch event in Barcelona, Huawei has finally showed the MatePad Pro 12.2 (2024) and MatePad 12X to the world after first releasing them in China. Aimed at professionals and creatives, the newest flagship tablet redefines work and creativity while on the go with its advanced display technology and powerful productivity features.
Huawei MatePad Pro 12.2, MatePad 12 X details and features
The MatePad Pro 12.2 boasts a dual-layer OLED display and a sizable 10,100 mAh battery with 100W cable charging; in contrast, the MatePad 12 X, which is marketed as the MatePad Air in China, is curiously equipped with the same battery as its Pro counterpart.
With a weight of just 508 grams and a thickness of just 5.5 mm, the MatePad Pro 12.2 has a stylish and lightweight design. With a smooth refresh rate of 144 Hz and a resolution of 2800 x 1840, it features a 12.2-inch Tandem OLED PaperMatte Display. Together with a 92% screen-to-body ratio and an astounding peak brightness of 2000 nits, the display provides an amazing visual experience. It guarantees vivid, lifelike colors with ΔE < 1 color accuracy and supports the P3 wide color gamut.
Above the screen, both the Huawei MatePad 12 X and the Pro feature a PaperMatte layer. In an effort to help “young creators,” it mimics the feel of paper while being visually friendly.
With its Shimmery Pearlescent Sheen design, you may achieve a metallic white that varies in color based on the illumination. For durability and aesthetic appeal, the tablet has an all-metal body with a beautiful design. You can have it in either green or white.
Starting today, September 19, the two gadgets will be sold abroad, including in Europe and the United Kingdom.
The Huawei MatePad 12.2-inch with 256GB costs £699.99; the larger, 512GB storage model costs an additional 100 euros. You can purchase the Huawei MatePad 12 X with 512GB of storage for £549.99.
