Today Huawei held an online event where they launched the Nova 7 series which included three smartphones – Nova 7, Nova 7 Pro and Nova 7 SE. Including the Nova series the company also launched a tablet along with it. The tablet is an addition to the MatePad series and is named MatePad and it will be available in three different variants starting from CNY 1899 (approximately $270).

Specifications of MatePad:

The Huawei MatePad is built around a 10.4″ IPS display with a resolution of 2,000 x 1,200 pixels and a Kirin 810 chipset. It packs a 7,250mAh battery with 18W fast charging via Type-C port. The tablet also supports M-pencil. MatePad includes two 8MP cameras one at front and one at back. The rear one comes with autofocus, while the selfie one is fixed focus.

The tablet weighs 450 grams, not so heavy in hands. Huawei has baked-in an education center, full of learning resources, and complete with its own special “focus UI”. It also includes a special reading mode, which not only cuts-out blue light and simulates a monochrome e-paper like experience but also monitors for the user’s eye distance and posture.

Price and Availability:

The Huawei MatePad is priced at CNY 1,899 ($270) for 4GB + 64GB Wi-Fi, CNY 2,199 ($310) for 6GB + 128GB Wi-Fi and CNY 2,499 ($350) for 6GB + 128GB LTE.
