Huawei unveils MateBook 16s, D16, 14 2022, and D14 2022 laptops along with MateView SE Monitor

Huawei revealed four new laptops and a new monitor during a special online event. All new laptops are equipped with 12-generation Intel processors, 16GB of RAM, and at least 512GB of storage. The Huawei MateBook 16s is an absolute beast.

The display is based on a 16-inch touchscreen IPS LCD with a 3:2 aspect ratio, 2520x1680px resolution, 300 nits of brightness, and 1500:1 contrast ratio. It supports 100 per cent sRGB and is calibrated to a Delta E of less than one.

The 12-core (4 performance, 8 efficiencies), 16-thread i5-12500H, the 14-core (6 performance, 8 efficiencies), 20-thread i7-12700H, and the 14-core (6 performance, 8 efficiencies), 20-thread i9-12900H are among the 12th-gen Intel H CPUs available. Because there is no discrete GPU, the Intel Iris Xe handles graphics. You may select 512GB or 1TB of NVMe PCIe storage, as well as 16GB of LPDDR4x RAM.

The MateBook 16s comes with a 135W charger and an 84 Wh battery. The Huawei MateBook 16s is priced at CNY 6,999 for the i5, CNY 7,999 for the i7, and CNY 9,999 for the i9.

Huawei MateBook D16

The MateBook D16 has a 16-inch diagonal, however, the aspect ratio is 16:10. The display has a resolution of 1920×1200 pixels, a maximum brightness of 300 nits, 100 per cent sRGB coverage, and a contrast ratio of 1200:1. There is no support for a touch here.

The i7-12700H or i5-12500H processors with Intel Iris Xe graphics, 16GB of LPDDR4x RAM, and 512GB of NVMe PCIe storage are available. The MateBook D16 comes with a 60Wh battery and a 65W charger. CNY 5,699 for the i5 model and CNY 6,699 for the i7 model for the MateBook D16. Pre-orders begin today, with the laptop shipping on June 6.

Huawei MateBook 14 2022

The MateBook 14 boasts a 14-inch 3:2 2160x1440px display with touch capabilities and a maximum brightness of 300 nits. The 12-core (4 performance, 8 efficiencies), 16-thread i7-1260P and the 12-core (4 performance, 8 efficiencies), 16-thread i5-1240P are the two processors available. The Intel Iris Xe GPU is back, and storage and RAM are 512GB NVMe and 16 LPDDR4x, respectively.

The MateBook 14 2022 features a 56Wh battery and comes with a 65W charger. The i5 model of the MateBook 14 2022 costs CNY 6,099, while the i7 model costs CNY 6,999.

Huawei MateBook D14 2022

The MateBook D14 2022 has a 14-inch 16:9 display with a resolution of 1920x1080px. It boasts a maximum brightness of 300 nits, a 1000:1 contrast ratio, and 100% sRGB coverage. The MateBook 14 2022 has the same processors, RAM, storage, battery size, and charger. The i5 model of the MateBook D14 2022 costs CNY 5,299, while the i7 model costs CNY 5,999.

Huawei MateView SE

Huawei’s latest MateView monitor is the MateView SE. It sports a 23.8-inch diagonal IPS LCD display with a 1920x1080px resolution and a 16:9 aspect ratio. The maximum brightness is 250 nits, the contrast ratio is 1000:1, and the P3 colour gamut and sRGB space are both covered to a respectable 90 per cent. According to Huawei, the monitor is pre-calibrated with an Average Delta E of less than 2.

The MateView SE runs at 75Hz and supports AMD FreeSync. The monitor can be fully vertical, tilt and swivel up to 18 degrees, and move up and down by 110mm. There’s one HDMI, one Display Port, and a power connector; unfortunately, there’s no USB-C. There’s an eBook Mode that makes the screen look like paper to reduce eye strain. The Huawei MateView SE will be available for CNY 799 upon launch.
