Huawei is one of the few companies that see serious potential in outer-folding phones and the newly announced Mate Xs 2 is a step in that direction. The device is a successor to the Huawei Mate Xs 2020. The successor has been redesigned and it also features improved specifications.
Huawei Mate Xs 2 specifications:
The OLED display measures 7.8″ and has a resolution of 2480 x 2200 pixels, it has a refresh rate of 120Hz. When folded, the device shrinks to 6.5″ and has a resolution of 2480 x 1176 pixels. Huawei has integrated a 10MP selfie shooter in the top-right corner and it measures just 255g which is lighter than its predecessor which measured 300g.
The Huawei Mate Xs 2 features a double rotor-hinge system that is a better fit in terms of long-term durability. This also does not leave any sort of crease on the display.
Huawei has placed a special emphasis on the durability aspect of the device, it has a polymer-covered display owing to a new four-layer structure. The Mate Xs 2 supports Huawei’s M-Pen 2s stylus as well.
Similar to the Mate X and Mate Xs, the Mate Xs 2 has a triple camera setup on the rear with a 50MP primary sensor, a 13MP ultrawide sensor, and an 8MP telephoto lens with up to 3x optical zoom and 30x digital zoom and OIS.
The foldable device has been powered by the Snapdragon 888 4G SoC and has been paired with 8GB/12GB RAM configurations along with 512GB in-built storage. The Mate X2 2 is juiced by a 4,880mAh battery with 66W fast charging and it runs on Huawei’s HarmonyOS 2.
The Mate Xs 2 arrives in White, Black, and Purple colors. In terms of pricing, it has been priced at CNY 9,999 or 1,15,609 INR for the 8GB+256GB variant while the 12GB+512GB variant has been priced at CNY 12,999 or 1,50,368 INR. The first sale will begin on the 6th of May as per Huawei.
