On 15 April, Huawei took the wraps off its recent flagship smartphone series called the Huawei Pura, a sequel to the firm’s iconic P series. By posting on Weibo, the Chinese smartphone behemoth Huawei announced the Pura 70 as the first phone under this new brand. Huawei is releasing numerous additional models as per usual with previous entries in the P-series flagship series.
The All New Huawei Pura Series
The Huawei P series made its debut in 2012, and the Huawei P60 series, which included the Huawei P60, P60 Pro, and the P60 Art, was the most recent entry into the P series lineup last year. Huawei CEO Richard Yu also took to Weibo to announce that the Huawei P series has been “upgraded” to “Pura,” which will debut with the Pura 70. The company also released a teaser video for its upcoming Huawei Pura 70, establishing its debut with a series of innovative design aspects and enhanced photography features.
The video also features a rectangular camera island, which looks like a play button, which is seen as the primary symbol as the new lineup includes passion, purity, style, creativity, and timeless elements. The video suggests that the lineup may include four models, the Huawei Pura 70, Pura 70 Pro, Pura 70 Pro+, and Pura 70 Ultra. However, Pura’s launch date has yet to be revealed.
The Huawei P series made its debut with the Huawei Ascend P1 in 2012, culminating with last year’s Huawei P60 series – featuring the Huawei P60, P60 Pro, and P60 Art – as the final offerings in the P generation. All three devices in the Huawei P60 series boast 6.7-inch LTPO OLED displays with refresh rates of up to 120Hz and are powered by Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoCs.
Equipped with triple camera setups at the rear and 13-megapixel selfie cameras, they introduce a novel two-way satellite messaging feature enabling communication via direct satellite networks. The Huawei P60 and P60 Pro are fueled by 4,815mAh batteries, while the Huawei P60 Art features a slightly larger 5,100mAh battery.
