Last month, I wrote about this laptop finding its way into the US market but its finally in India as well. The new HP Envy x360 2-in-1 laptop with Ryzen 4000U mobile processors are now in India, the same 6-core AMD Ryzen 5 4500U powered model is available in the country but for hefty pricing of ₹ 75,686.
Talking about specs, the HP Envy x360 13-ay0044AU is a 2-in-1 Laptop that features the 6 core and 6 threaded Ryzen 5 4500U APU. It is clocked at 2.3GHz base and up to 4.0GHz boost along with 8MB L3 Cache. The graphics of the laptop handled by the Vega 6 iGPU with 1500 MHz frequency.
The laptop features 13.3-inch Full HD multitouch IPS WLED-backlit display with 1920 x 1080 resolution. It has an edge-to-edge screen with a peak brightness of 250 nits, covering about 45% NTSC color gamut. The HP Envy x360 packs 8 GB DDR4-3200 SDRAM along with 256 GB PCIe NVMe M.2 SSD. For connectivity, it comes with Wi-Fi 5 (2×2) and Bluetooth 5 combo.
The laptop features a full-size backlit island-style keyboard with an integrated numeric keypad along with an HP Wide Vision HD Camera with a camera shutter and integrated dual array digital microphone. It also comes with 3 speakers tuned by Bang & Olufsen and has HP Audio Boost technology.
For ports, we have 1 USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C (10 Gb/s signaling rate, Power Delivery 3.0, HDMI 2.0, DisplayPort 1.4, HP Sleep and Charge), 1 USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A (5 Gb/s signaling rate, HP Sleep and Charge), 1 Mini DisplayPort, 1 HDMI 2.0, 1 multi-format SD media card reader and 1 headphone/microphone combo.
The new HP Envy x360 features a 3-cell 51 Wh Li-ion polymer battery which supports fast charging – approximately 50% in 30 minutes. Weighing about 2 Kg, it is easy to carry anywhere and being a 2-in-1 laptop you can use it for productivity work as well, it comes in Nightfall Black colour variant only.
The laptop as a whole is a great laptop only downside being its display, so professionals better stay out of this but is great for normal tasks and its powerful AMD APU is a great addition to this slim and light 2-in-1 laptop.
Now coming to the pricing which has amazed me the most is in India the HP Envy x360 13 costing a whopping ₹ 75,686 that translates to about $1,010 which obviously includes 18% GST. But still, when the same laptop is available for as low as $699 in the US, the pricing in India makes the laptop out of reach for a lot of enthusiasts who have been eager for a Ryzen 4000U powered 2-in-1 laptop.
