Shailene Woodley has finally reached a major milestone in her television career. After years of waiting for another Emmy opportunity, the actress won her first Emmy Award in 2026 for her performance in Paradise. But this was not her first appearance among the Emmy nominees.

The Television Academy records two Emmy nominations and one win for Woodley.

Shailene Woodley’s First Emmy Nomination

Woodley received her first Emmy nomination in 2017 for her acclaimed performance as Jane Chapman in HBO’s Big Little Lies.

She was nominated for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Limited Series or Movie, alongside several celebrated performers from the series. The award ultimately went to her Big Little Lies co-star Laura Dern.

That meant Woodley had to wait almost a decade before receiving another Emmy nomination.

Paradise Brings Her Back to the Emmys

Woodley’s second Emmy opportunity arrived in 2026 with Hulu’s Paradise. In the show’s second season, she played Annie Clay, a former Graceland tour guide and survivor of the catastrophic event known as “The Day.”

Her performance earned her a nomination for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Drama Series.

This time, Woodley did not leave empty-handed. At the 2026 Emmy ceremony, she won the category, securing her first Emmy Award.

Shailene Woodley’s Emmy Record

Year	Series	Category	Result
2017	Big Little Lies	Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Limited Series or Movie	Nominated
2026	Paradise	Outstanding Guest Actress in a Drama Series	Won

So, the answer is simple: Shailene Woodley has been nominated for an Emmy twice and has won once. Her 2026 victory came on her second nomination.

From Child Actress to Emmy Winner

Woodley began acting as a child and rose to international prominence through The Secret Life of the American Teenager. She later became a major film star with projects including The Fault in Our Stars and Divergent.

Her return to television with Big Little Lies showcased a more mature side of her acting, while Paradise gave her another opportunity to demonstrate her range.

At 34, Woodley now has an Emmy victory to add to a career spanning film, television and Broadway.
