CEO Zhao Ming of Honor recently confirmed the company’s intention to step into the phone market with a flip-style device expected to launch this year. Building up excitement a Chinese source has shared a concept image revealing the alleged design of the Honor Magic Flip (working title) giving fans a glimpse of its anticipated look.
The Rumored Honor Magic Flip
As per the source, the Magic Flip has been in development for more than two years and is scheduled for an official release by the end of the second quarter of this year. Serving as an Honor’s debut in the phone category the device’s design elements are sparking significant interest. While it’s not confirmed whether the leaked image is authentic it bears a striking resemblance to what might be the product.
The Honor Magic Flip is expected to feature a cover display similar to that of the Motorola Razr 40 Ultra and house a dual camera setup arranged vertically. Notably, it seems that part of the device will be made from leather adding an element of elegance to its design.
Rumors suggest that Honor intends for Magic Flip to stand out as one of the lightest options, in the phone market offering users an immersive candy bar experience. Recent leaks hint at the device having a dual-cell battery, which is believed to improve its longevity for use although specific specifications are still undisclosed.
In the competitive Chinese market, the Honor Magic Flip is anticipated to rival upcoming offerings such as the Xiaomi Mix Flip and the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6, further intensifying the competition among foldable phone manufacturers.
In addition to the Magic Flip, Honor is rumored to launch two more foldable display phones this year: the Magic V3 featuring an inward folding design, and the V Purse 2 featuring an outward folding mechanism. These forthcoming releases underscore Honor’s commitment to innovation and its ambition to carve a niche in the dynamic foldable phone market.
