The Honor 90 5G is set to make its debut in the Indian market next week. HTech, through its official X handle (formerly known as Twitter), has officially announced the launch of this new smartphone in India. They’ve hinted that it will feature an impressive 200-megapixel triple rear camera setup. The device is also confirmed to offer PWM dimming at 3840Hz. In May, the Honor 90 5G was first introduced in the Chinese market alongside the Honor 90 Pro.
The Indian launch of the Honor 90 5G is scheduled for September 14, with the event starting at 12:30 PM IST. The smartphone will be sold on Amazon, and Honor Tech has already started inviting the media to attend its debut.
The Honor 90 5G Expected Specs and Pricing
As for the expected specifications and price of the Honor 90 5G, which has been actively teasing its features on X. It’s hinted that the phone will come with a TUV Rheinland-certified display boasting a 1.5K resolution, up to 1600 nits peak brightness, 435ppi pixel density, and 3840Hz PWM dimming.
Amazon India’s website has also revealed some specifications of the Honor 90 5G. It will run on Android 13-based MagicOS 7.1 and include a triple camera setup with a 200-megapixel primary camera. For selfies and video calls, it will have a 50-megapixel front camera. The Chinese version of the Honor 90 5G features a 6.7-inch full-HD+ curved OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. It’s powered by a Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 SoC, coupled with up to 16GB RAM and a maximum of 512GB internal storage. The phone is supported by a 5,000mAh battery and offers 66W wired fast charging.
When it was launched in China in May, the base model with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage was priced at CNY 2,499 (approximately ₹29,000). The 16GB + 256GB and 16GB + 512GB variants were priced at CNY 2,799 (about ₹32,680) and CNY 2,999 (about ₹35,017), respectively. The pricing for India is expected to be in a similar range, possibly around ₹35,000, according to a previous leak.
It’s worth noting that Honor had previously withdrawn its operations from India in 2020. Now, Honor India has appointed Madhav Sheth, the former Vice President for Business and Corporate Strategy at Realme, to lead its operations in India.
