Honda has finally revealed details about its upcoming SUV for the Indian market. The brand confirmed that the all-new SUV will be unveiled in the summer of 2023. According to the company, the upcoming Honda SUV was designed at Honda R&D Asia Pacific Co. Ltd.

Honda Cars India has only revealed the upcoming SUV’s silhouette. The SUV will have an upright stance and a multi-slate grille with wraparound headlamps, according to the teaser image. The Honda badge is in the centre of the grille, with LED DRLs above the headlamps.

The SUV appears to have large wheels and thick cladding on the wheel arches from the side. The front bumper appears to have a faux skid plate, circular fog lamps, and a dedicated air dam. The Honda’s new SUV will be 4.3 metres long and will most likely be built on an updated platform similar to the Honda Amaze in the Indian market.

The new Honda SUV is expected to have a petrol and a petrol hybrid powertrain, similar to the fifth-generation City and City e:HEV, respectively.

The Honda SUV will be powered by a 1.5-litre NA petrol engine with 121 hp and a 1.5-litre strong-hybrid petrol powertrain with 98 PS and 127 Nm of peak torque. Transmission options for the 1.5-litre NA petrol include a 5-speed manual and CVT, as well as an e-drive transmission for the strong-hybrid.

Honda is expected to release the SUV during the 2023 holiday season. When it is released, it will compete in the Indian market with vehicles such as the Hyundai Creta, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Toyota Hyryder, Kia Seltos, Volkswagen Taigun, and Skoda Kushaq.
