Upcoming Devices from HMD

Although there are many potential candidates, including the HMD Pulse, Pulse+, Pulse Pro, and Vibe smartphones launched just a few days ago, the Indian dawn might refer to another sequel. HMD India released a teaser, which was also sent to the press, announcing the new smartphone’s name will be revealed on April 29th, indicating that as soon as next week, people will know the device intended for India.

While the specific HMD smartphone slated for launch in India is yet to be confirmed, it’s speculated that it could be one of the four recently unveiled models. The lineup consists of the HMD Pulse and Pulse Pro, released in Europe, and the HMD Vibe, a newcomer to the US market. All of the above will be assigned to the budget segment – their cost will begin from about 12,500 rupees.

The latter offers a 6.5-inch HD+ screen with a 90 Hz refresh rate and is equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 chipset, available in conjunction with up to 6 GB of RAM and 128 internal memory. In addition, the smartphone has a camera with a 13 MP main sensor, an auxiliary 2 MP, a 5 MP front sensor, a 4000 mAh unit with 10 W charging, and an IP52 rating for dust and liquid protection.

Both the HMD Pulse and Pulse+ share similar specifications, featuring a 6.65-inch LCD 90Hz display and running on the UNISOC T606 chipset paired with Mali-G57 MP1 GPU. They offer up to 6GB of RAM and up to 256GB of onboard storage, along with self-repairing kits. The HMD Pulse and Pulse+ run on Android 14 OS out of the box, with promised two years of OS updates and three years of security patches.

While the HMD Pulse features a 13MP primary camera and a secondary depth sensor, the Pulse+ comes with a 50MP primary camera and a secondary sensor. Both phones sport an 8MP front camera for selfies and pack a 5000mAh battery with 10W charging support.

The HMD Pulse Pro, meanwhile, offers a 6.56-inch HD+ display. The smartphone is based on the UNISOC T606 SoC and has 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. Powered by Android 14, it has been guaranteed two years of Android updates and three years of security patches. The primary camera is 50MP and has a secondary sensor, plus a 50MP front camera for selfies and video calls. A 5000mAh battery and 20W fast charging support the Pulse Pro.
