Hyderabad FC defender Akash Mishra has become one of the most sought-after talents in the country. The defender is being courted by Mohun Bagan and Mumbai City FC for a transfer this summer.

And according to reports, there is a chance that his transfer fee could become a record signing in India with a sum of Rs 2 crore in discussion. The player is yet to decide on his new club, but has offers from both clubs to try out a new experience.

Akash Mishra expected to break ISL transfer fee record

The increased transfer fee is further suggested by the fact that he signed a new contract only last year. Mishra renewed his contract until 2024/25 last year, and with two seasons still left on his contract, Hyderabad FC can demand a huge fee to part ways with the talented youngster.

The left-back had interest from Japan over a transfer as well, but that failed to go through. Now, there is a chance that he could sign for one of the biggest clubs in the country during the off-season.

Akash Mishra earned the Young Player of the Year at the Football Players Association of India in 2022. And he has gone on to feature for the Indian national team as well. He played an important part in the Nizams winning the ISL Cup last time around, and was very impressive this term as well. And perhaps, now is the time for him to make a step up to another top club in India.
