Moore’s Law is Dead has just disclosed some new information on Intel’s entry-level ARC Alchemist graphics cards, which use the Xe-HPG GPU architecture.
According to reports, The top and entry-level categories will be covered by the Intel ARC Alchemist. MLID has already offered insight into the 512 EU component, therefore our emphasis has switched to the entry-level lineup, which will debut in Q1 2022 for laptops (Dell / ASUS) and a desktop launch later that year (Q2 of 2022 as rumoured).
Intel Xe-HPG 128 EU ARC Alchemist Graphics Card
The 128 EU SKU will be used for the Intel Xe-HPG Alchemist entry-level graphics cards and the configuration will come with 1024 cores in 8 Xe cores, a 96-bit bus interface, and up to 6 GB GDDR6 memory. On the TSMC 6nm production node, the core clocks for this GPU SKU are predicted to vary between 2.2 and 2.5 GHz.
This GPU will be quite similar to the Intel Xe-LP GPU-based discrete SDV board, however, the Alchemist will have a better architecture design and will definitely outperform the first-gen Xe GPU architecture in terms of performance. Based on the specs provided we can see that this series is aimed at the entry-level desktop discrete market.
