Here’s how you can be a part of the ongoing Halo infinite beta

Halo Infinite multiplayer beta has started as of yesterday and unlike the previous ones, this one is open to everyone and the aim here is to help developers test the Big Team Battle mode at scale.

If you own an Xbox but don’t have the Xbox Insider Program, then no worries you can play the game. On Xbox it’s as simple as downloading an app, however, on PC things are a bit complicated.

343 has also announced plans to play Halo Infinite with the community, and you can win the special Ice Unicorn emblem.

343 Industries has listed off the download instructions on its website, and it’s a pretty straightforward process to get in. On the Xbox, users need to download the Xbox Insider Hub app from the Store and then join the Halo Infinite preview.

coming to PC, players not part of the Halo Insider program need to obtain a “friend invite code” to take part in this weekend’s test. If you secure a code then you can redeem it on the Halo Waypoint website, and receive a message containing a code and installation instructions.

Halo Infinite Multiplayer Beta Download Instructions

INSTALLING ON XBOX

1. Navigate to the “Store” app on your Xbox console.
2. Search for “Xbox Insider Hub” in the App section.
3. Install “Xbox Insider Hub.”
4. Launch “Xbox Insider Hub.”
5. Under “Previews,” select “Halo Infinite – Insider.”
6. Select “Join Preview.”
7. If the Preview does not install after a short time, hold down the power button on your Xbox console for 10 seconds to power cycle the console, then turn it back on.
8. Navigate back to the Preview in the Xbox Insider Hub.
9. Select “View in Store”
10. Install the game.

INSTALLING ON PC

To use a friend invite code for this weekend’s Multiplayer Technical Preview:

1. Redeem your code at www.halowaypoint.com/redeem.
2. You will receive a message on Waypoint with your Tech Preview invite. This message includes your Steam key and installation instructions for both Xbox and PC.
3. Redeem the Steam key by following the Activating a Product on Steam instructions.
4. Install the game.
