Harry Kane achieves personal best with 40th goal of the season

Bayern Munich star striker Harry Kane scored his 33rd Bundesliga goal in the 5-1 win against Union Berlin, taking his tally to 40 in 41 games across all competitions. This is the number 9’s best return in his career, and he has achieved it in his very first year at Bayern.

In spite of missing out on the Bundesliga title, the striker is on course to win the top scorer award in the league. He is also expected to win the European Golden Shoe for being the player with the most league goals in the continent’s top leagues.

The Bavarians haven’t been at their best this season, and Bayer Leverkusen’s unbeaten run has also prevented them from extending their 11-year run as Deutsche Meister. While there may be optimism for next year, Kane is still showing why he is one of the best strikers in the world.

Die Roten have been drawn against Real Madrid in the semifinals of the Champions League, and they need to keep themselves sharp to have a chance at overcoming the Spanish giants.

Towards that end, Harry Kane will be a huge asset in the battle against the 14-time UCL winners.
