HARMAN, a subsidiary of Samsung Electronics Co. focused on creating automotive electronics technology for consumer experiences, has announced the expansion of its operations in India with the opening of a new Automotive Engineering Centre in Chennai, Tamil Nadu.

This investment is a significant milestone in HARMAN Automotive’s journey to becoming the leading automotive electronics supplier, delivering the best-in-class in-cabin experiences. The Chennai centre, set to be fully operational by the second quarter of this year, will employ 200 people in its first year and will cater to both global and Indian OEMs.
It will also work in tandem with the Bangalore and Pune centres to develop advanced automotive technologies. HARMAN‘s Managing Director in India, Prathab Deivanayagham, said that the Chennai centre would leverage the region’s rich talent pool to drive innovation and create world-class automotive experiences.
The centre is strategically located and designed with a lush central landscape and enriching lifestyle amenities like a Futsal court, jogging track, gym, and meditation deck. The facility incorporates modern technology to conserve electrical energy and eco-friendly and renewable materials in its furniture.
