Harlan Coben’s Most Personal Character Is Finally Coming to Netflix — Myron Bolitar Starts Filming This July

Four years of waiting. Countless Harlan Coben adaptations have come and gone on Netflix — Fool Me Once, Missing You, Run Away — but the one fans have always wanted most has been quietly sitting in development. That changes now. Myron Bolitar is officially moving into production, and the creative team assembled for it is genuinely formidable.

Myron Bolitar Netflix Series — Key Details

Who Is Myron Bolitar?

Myron Bolitar follows the titular character who, after an injury ends his NBA dreams, reinvents himself as a sports agent — using charm, smarts, and a ruthless partner to navigate the high-stakes and dirty world of sports, where saving his clients often means risking himself.

The first book, Deal Breaker, was published in 1995, with the most recent release, Think Twice, marking the twelfth novel in 2024. It is one of crime fiction’s most beloved long-running series, and Harlan Coben himself has described it as his most prized creative property.

The Creative Team

This is where things get genuinely exciting. The series boasts Emmy winner David E. Kelley — creator of Big Little Lies and Ally McBeal — and Kyle Long (Suits) as writers, executive producers, and co-showrunners.

Greg Yaitanes, who directed multiple episodes of Apple TV+’s Presumed Innocent, will direct multiple episodes and executive produce. Also executive producing are Matthew Tinker and Rick Muirragui.

Coben himself was effusive about the partnership: “What an honor — not to mention, great fun — it is to partner up at Netflix with legend David E. Kelley and his remarkable team on this exciting new series. The Myron Bolitar books mean a great deal to me, and I’m thrilled to have such a talented and inspired group bringing them to life.”

Why This Matters

Getting a Myron Bolitar series off the ground has been a top priority for Netflix since 2022, when the streamer extended its original deal with Coben to add 12 more titles — including the full Bolitar series and the offshoot novel Win. This is the most personal Coben adaptation Netflix has ever attempted, and it is also their first US-set Coben series — a milestone in a partnership that has already produced some of the streamer’s biggest hits. Deadline

Filming is scheduled to begin July 20, 2026, in New York and New Jersey, concluding around November 6, 2026 — a nearly four-month shoot. With post-production factored in, a second-half-of-2027 Netflix release is the most realistic window. No cast has been confirmed yet, but announcements are expected soon. What’s on Netflix
