GTA is now back and its Trilogy Definitive Edition is here, thanks to Rockstar Games, you can now relive the madness of Grand Theft Auto in a new way possible. Though it is not the best remaster Rockstar fans had dreamed of as there have been reports of performance issues on PC or consoles along with Rockstar Games Launcher’s huge downtime.
Well, if you are on PC playing this game, the YouTuber Joker Productions found that when you switch from the default DirectX 11 to DirectX 12 that will significantly boost the smoothness of the game. Well, Rockstar Games have been using older DirectX APIs for quite some time and their GTA V is also more stable with DX11.
While the newer and remastered GTA Trilogy Definitive Edition seems to make use of the new DirectX 12 better because of the underlying Unreal Engine. All you have to do is, just go to Rockstar Games Launcher settings for each of the games in the collection and add -dx12 under launch arguments.
Though Joker Productions also recommends locking the frames per second to only 60 and enabling V-Sync for consistent framerates, however, we hope in future with fixes, Rockstar Games will surely address this issue soon.
