Hey fellow gamers, I feel your excitement! With GTA 6 only six months away, that viral claim about pre-orders opening tomorrow (May 12) has everyone refreshing stores like crazy. But let’s pump the brakes with a reality check based on the latest buzz.

GTA 6: The Rumor That’s Everywhere

It kicked off from one X post by RockStation, citing an anonymous UK retailer employee. The claim? Pre-orders drop May 12 at £69.99, possibly with a third trailer. It exploded on Reddit, tying into PlayStation pausing deals until May 13 and Take-Two’s May 21 investor call. Sounds perfect on paper—until you dig deeper.

Why It’s Probably Not Happening

Rockstar stays famously tight-lipped (silent since the November 2025 delay announcement). Here’s the quick breakdown:

Claim	Why It’s Doubtful
Pre-orders May 12	Only one unverified source; no other retailers confirming
Perfect timing	Insiders like @videotech say it’s unsubstantiated rumor
Trailer + orders	Rockstar typically drops trailer before opening pre-orders
PS Store clear-out	Deals resume May 13; no official Rockstar tie-in

Reputable voices, including @detectiveseeds, expect a more controlled rollout with the third trailer first.

Current Status: GTA 6 is officially locked for November 19, 2026 on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S.2 Pre-orders aren’t live anywhere yet, and major marketing is expected to ramp up this summer.
