Massive Performance Upgrade
The GPD MicroPC 2 is powered by the Intel Processor N250, a modern and efficient chip featuring four Gracemont E-cores. This new processor provides a threefold increase in CPU performance over the original MicroPC, allowing it to handle complex tasks with ease.
The device represents a significant leap forward from the original 6-inch model, offering professionals a truly portable workstation that fits in your pocket.
Enhanced Display and Storage
The upgrade to a 7-inch 1080p touchscreen provides more workspace while maintaining the device’s compact form factor. The MicroPC 2 includes 16GB of LPDDR5 RAM running at 4800 MT/s and a 512GB PCIe Gen3x4 SSD. GPD supports storage upgrades up to 8TB with double-sided M.2 2280 SSDs.
This storage flexibility makes it suitable for demanding applications and extensive data storage needs.
Professional-Grade Connectivity
Like the original GPD MicroPC, the new model features a full-sized RJ45 port on the back for wired network connections, but this time it’s a 2.5 GbE Ethernet port rather than one that tops out at Gigabit speeds.
The comprehensive port selection including multiple USB-C and USB-A ports, plus HDMI 2.1, ensures compatibility with various peripherals and display setups.
Pricing and Availability
Word is it might hit around $499—a bargain next to other mini laptops that easily top $700. This competitive pricing positions the MicroPC 2 as an attractive option for professionals seeking ultra-portable computing solutions.
GPD is expected to launch the device through Indiegogo, following their typical crowdfunding approach for new products.
