GoPro Hero 10 Black leaks with new camera, processor, and improved video stabilization

The first signs of GoPro’s next camera have emerged online, courtesy of Roland Quandt and WinFuture. Last year, GoPro made a few changes to its Hero Black Camera, such as reverting to a replacement lens cover and equipping the Hero 9 Black with a color front display.

As far as we can tell, the only external changes that GoPro has made for this year’s model are visual, like the switch to blue lettering on the front casing. Not only Quandt published marketing renders of the Hero 10 Black, but he has also revealed the camera’s specifications. Based upon the packaging images embedded below, GoPro has equipped the Hero 10 Black with a larger 23MP camera supported by a new GP2 processor.

The camera can record video in up to 5.3K at 60FPS and 4K at 120FPS, which are both significantly higher frame rates in comparison to the Hero 9 Black. Additionally, the Hero 10 Black can shoot at 240FPS when set to 2.7k.

Live streaming quality has not improved, which remains at 1080p, and neither has TimeWarp mode. However, the Hero 10 Black supports better video stabilization, listed as the HyperSmooth 4.0. The Hero 10 Black retains its predecessor’s 8x slow motion and 10-meter water-resistance capabilities too.

1uandt has not revealed the pricing of the Hero 10 Black, nor the release date. Typically GoPro refreshes its cameras in September or early October, as it did with the Hero 8 Black and the Hero 9 Black. Hence, GoPro will probably announce the Hero 10 Black within the next 4-6 weeks.
