It’s surprising to think that the Pixel 10 series is already expected this year, especially with a major technological shift underway. Google’s next smartphones will be powered with an SoC (system-on-chip) that has been designed entirely in-house for the first time, and not based on Samsung’s Exynos platform like in the past. The new Tensor G5 chip won’t have components from Samsung, including the 5G modem that now swaps out for one from MediaTek.

Additionally, the Tensor G5 will not be manufactured by Samsung Foundry, unlike the Tensor G4. Instead, it is expected to be manufactured by TSMC with its superior third-gen 3nm process node (N3P), which should offer better efficiency and performance. These upgrades offer compelling reasons for both loyal Pixel fans and users of Galaxy S or iPhone devices to consider the Pixel 10 as their next smartphone.
