Ganesh Chaturthi 2026: Missed the Morning Muhurat? 3 Auspicious Times to Welcome Bappa Home

Missed the morning window to bring Ganpati Bappa home on Ganesh Chaturthi? There’s no need to worry — September 14, 2026 offers three more auspicious time slots after midday, so you can still perform the sthapana without any hesitation.

Ganesh Chaturthi: 3 Shubh Muhurats for Ganpati Sthapana

Hindu tradition holds that Lord Ganesha was born during the midday period (madhyahna kaal) of Bhadrapada Shukla Chaturthi, making that window the most sacred for installation. But if that time has already passed, the three Choghadiya muhurats below are considered equally auspicious.

What to Do Before the Sthapana

Before installing the Ganpati idol, thoroughly clean the space and lay a fresh cloth on the platform (chowki). Keep all puja essentials — roli, akshat, flowers, durva grass, and a lamp — ready beforehand. Once the idol is placed, light the lamp and offer roli and akshat to Lord Ganesha.

To complete the puja, offer modak or sweets as bhog and perform the aarti. Conclude with prayers for the family’s prosperity and the removal of obstacles.

It’s worth noting that all three Choghadiya periods — Char, Labh, and Amrit — are considered fruitful and auspicious, so you can choose whichever fits your schedule best.
