A Heartfelt Tribute to Robin Williams

This emotional touch signals that the final chapter will bridge the modern reboot series with its beloved predecessor.

What Makes This Different?

Production recently began in Los Angeles, marking the first time a modern Jumanji film hasn’t shot in Hawaii or Atlanta. This location shift, combined with images showing the avatars on city streets rather than jungle settings, hints at a dramatic premise change where the game world collides with reality.

The previous two films—Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle (2017) and Jumanji: The Next Level (2019)—grossed nearly $2 billion combined worldwide, making this franchise one of Sony’s biggest successes.

Behind the Scenes Excitement

Hart shared his enthusiasm on Instagram, writing “Back in action and loving it… I missed you Jumanji. This one will be our biggest!” The cast recently completed their first table read, with Johnson noting their jaws hurt from laughing so hard during the session.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Jumanji 3 really the final film in the series? Yes, Dwayne Johnson has confirmed multiple times that this will be the last Jumanji movie. He described it as “our very last Jumanji” and emphasized that the film will serve as a fitting conclusion to the modern reboot trilogy that began in 2017.

Will the original 1995 Jumanji be referenced in the new film? Absolutely! Beyond Johnson’s character wearing a necklace with dice from the 1995 film as a tribute to Robin Williams, the filmmakers have promised meaningful connections to the original movie. This suggests fans can expect nostalgic callbacks and deeper franchise lore that bridges both eras of Jumanji storytelling.
