The new Samsung Galaxy S24 series comes with upgrades, such as Galaxy AI and a key feature is the use of a Grade 2 titanium frame in the Ultra model. There are rumors circulating that a similar strategy might be applied to the Galaxy Z Fold 6 expected to launch in early July.
More About the Upcoming Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6
A known tech insider named Revegnus (@Tech_Reve, on X/Twitter) who has a track record of predicting device details ahead of time has hinted that Samsung will introduce the Galaxy Z Fold 6 with a titanium construction. Referring back to an October 2023 tweet this source initially suggested that Samsung was leaning towards incorporating a titanium frame for the book-style device.
It’s currently uncertain whether Samsung will stick with the Grade 2 titanium frame used in the Galaxy S24 Ultra or opt for a higher-grade version. It seems likely they will continue with the former. When we examined the titanium-clad Galaxy S24 Ultra we didn’t notice any weight difference compared to the 2023 Galaxy S23 Ultra, which featured an aluminum frame.
Even though the leaker has a history of sharing Samsung-related information it’s wise to be careful, about this leak. The Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Z Flip 6 are not due to be announced for a few months. If the rumors turn out to be accurate Samsung could potentially move up their year Unpacked event to early July. This would differ from the year when they revealed the Galaxy Z Fold 5 towards the end of July on the 26th. An earlier launch wouldn’t be unexpected given Samsung’s similar move with the Galaxy S24 in January.
Beyond the anticipation surrounding the upcoming flagship foldable’s features, there are reports suggesting Samsung’s development of a more budget-friendly book-style foldable, potentially priced starting from $800. Additionally, a South Korean publication revealed in January that this “affordable” Galaxy Z Fold model aims to bolster Samsung’s market share in the fiercely competitive Chinese smartphone market.
Furthermore, last month, we were treated to high-quality unofficial renders of the Galaxy Z Fold 6, showcasing a box-type frame reminiscent of the Galaxy S24 Ultra. There was also speculation about Samsung equipping the Z Fold 6 with a 200MP primary camera, although this was later refuted by a subsequent report.
