Samsung has launched the Galaxy XCover Pro in 2020, nearly two years later, now the company is debuting its successor, the Galaxy XCover Pro 2. If you did not know, the Galaxy XCover Series is Samsung’s rugged smartphone that is targeted at workers who have to endure tough terrain and work conditions.

As per a SamMobile report, Samsung is working on a new rugged device with the model number SM-G736B. As per this report, the phone is likely to be released as the Galaxy XCover 2 with support for 5G connectivity.

If true, then the device may be the first-ever 5G device in this lineup as all the models released until now including the Galaxy XCover 5 have been limited to 4G LTE.

Nothing else is known as of now but the publication hints at some common features that its predecessor also carried.

The device could have a removable battery similar to other XCover devices and it could be based on Galaxy A53 as its predecessor shared so much in common with the A51.

Samsung could equip the XCover Pro 2 with its own Exynos 1280 chip and it could be eligible for 4 years of OS updates and 5 years of security updates.

We have to wait for an official report from Samsung to get the final specs of the XCover 2.
