According to the latest news, the upcoming Galaxy S25 series will showcase the new generational Bixby. The South Korean tech titan also introduced an AI-driven variant of its virtual assistant in China earlier this year, working on its first models: the Galaxy W25 and W25 Flip.
However, this feature-rich Bixby version had limited release, never hitting markets apart from China. Samsung originally expected to debut the AI-powered Bixby alongside the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Z Flip 6, but scheduling pushbacks held up the deployment.

Samsung Galaxy S25 to Launch AI-Powered Bixby Assistant Globally, Reportedly
The AI-enabled Bixby is expected to launch globally alongside the Galaxy S25 series, which is estimated to debut early next year, as reported by ET News. According to the sources familiar with the matter, the new Bixby would be capable of integrating a large language model (LLM), which will allow the assistant to do things significantly beyond what it is equipped with now. Some capabilities have already been demonstrated in the functionality of the Chinese version of Bixby.
First, an assistant can understand the context of natural language commands better, unusually complex commands involving multiple tasks. Additionally, Samsung shared that the new Bixby would allow the assistant to answer ambiguous questions by understanding user context. Additionally, Chinese Bixby is capable of text generation, finding videos on the web, and translating web pages. It can also export the created content in Microsoft Office file formats: Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
The new Bixby gets a slightly updated user interface that launches as a full-screen window with a stripped-down layout with a text box at the bottom. Users communicate with the assistant by entering text or using voice input, and it can be activated on all smartphone screens or apps. Other than the W25 series, the new AI-enabled Bixby also made its way into Samsung’s Bespoke AI home appliances, though those features are more tailored for each device.
