The Galaxy S25 series will apparently succeed the current Galaxy S24 lineup from Samsung in the months to come. Now, an analyst from a market research company shared details about the processors that could provide the power to these new smartphones. The next generation of Exynos processors, on which Samsung can least rely for the Galaxy S25 series.
More About Chipsets of Samsung Galaxy S25 Series
Kuo recently shared a post on X (formerly Twitter) saying that the rumored Exynos 2500 SoC wouldn’t show up on the Galaxy S25 series due to the low yield of its 3nm process technology. Consequently, Qualcomm is likely to be the sole supplier of processors for Samsung’s upcoming smartphones, which will succeed the Galaxy S24 lineup introduced in January.
In addition, Qualcomm will provide all the chipsets for the Galaxy S25 series without the presence of Exynos 2500 processors, a huge step up from the current generation where just 40% of Galaxy S24 models globally employ the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC.
Kuo also said that Qualcomm (the sole foundry on the N3E Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chip) in such circumstances will take advantage of the spike in flagship ultra and lower-middle-end tier demand and that Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co (TSMC) could benefit from it. That would be a boost for the US chipmaker, which is believed to be planning to increase the cost of its next-generation chip for iPhones by 25% to 30%.
Currently, only the Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S24+ models from Canada, China, Macau, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Japan, and the US are equipped with Snapdragon chips, while the Galaxy S24 Ultra features a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip in all markets. In 2023, Samsung included the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset in all models of the Galaxy S23 series, and next year’s models are also expected to feature Snapdragon processors according to the analyst.
