Galaxy S22 series of Samsung might support 65W fast charging

Samsung has always stayed behind the competition when it gets to charging speeds. The company has supported 15W fast charging speeds for a very long time, and it only introduced the 25W and 45W super-fast charging speeds back in 2019. The new Galaxy S22 Series may support 65W fast charging on some of the highest-end models, which would likely be the Ultra variant.

We’re just a few weeks away from seeing Samsung’s next lineup of phones announced, but the leaks and rumors have already started in regards to the Galaxy S22 series. The latest of which claims that Samsung is currently testing 65W fast charging for the entire Galaxy S22 lineup.

Samsung’s plans have been highlighted by tipster FrontTron, claiming that testing for 65W charging support on the Galaxy S22 line has started. While he does not explicitly mention any member of the Galaxy S22 family, his latest tweet states the term ‘Rainbow RGB’, which is the codename for the entire lineup, with the R, G, and B denoting the Samsung Galaxy S22, S22 Plus, and S22 Ultra.

Other rumors for the Galaxy S22 point to larger camera sensors to be used in the lineup. Samsung could also be working on a partnership with camera maker Olympus. It’s unknown whether this partnership will be in regards to the camera hardware. But our guess would be that it has more to do with image processing and tuning after you’ve already snapped your pictures.

It’s not even August, but these early rumors and leaks point to Samsung gearing up to take 2022 on by storm. But first, we’ll need to see how well the company does with its next lineup of foldable smartphones which are poised to replace the Galaxy Note series this year.
