The back of the phone displays the familiar vertical triple camera module that is commonly associated with Samsung devices. The design of the Samsung phone is not flashy but may appeal to some users. On the other hand, the Realme Narzo 60 5G stands out in terms of design aesthetics and uniqueness. It showcases a faux leather finish on the back and a prominent circular camera module. The frame of the phone is made of plastic, but its design sets it apart from others in the segment.

Display

With a high refresh rate of 120Hz, the Samsung Galaxy M34 5G offers users a 6.5-inch AMOLED display that delivers Full HD+ resolution for a stunning visual experience. It features a waterdrop notch for the front camera and a relatively thick chin at the bottom. Realme has equipped the Narzo 60 5G with a slightly smaller 6.43-inch Super AMOLED display that also provides Full HD+ resolution but with a 90Hz refresh rate. The screen has an 85.7% screen-to-body ratio and a punch-hole cutout for the selfie camera. It is equipped with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 for added protection.

Cameras

The camera system of the Samsung Galaxy M34 comprises a triple-camera arrangement, which includes a 50MP main camera with optical image stabilization (OIS), an 8MP ultra-wide lens, and a 2MP macro sensor. For selfies and video calls, it features a 13MP front camera. In comparison, the Realme Narzo 60 5G features a 64MP primary camera and a 2MP depth sensor for portrait shots. The device is equipped with a front-facing camera with a resolution of 16 megapixels.

Performance and UI

The Samsung Galaxy M34 5G runs on a powerful octa-core Exynos 1280 processor, coupled with a maximum of 8GB RAM and 256GB internal storage capacity. It runs on the Android 13-based One UI, and Samsung promises four years of Android software updates and five years of security patches. Meanwhile, the Realme Narzo 60 5G utilizes the Dimensity 6020 chipset, coupled with 8GB of RAM and up to 256GB of storage. It operates on Realme UI 3.0, based on Android 13.

Battery and Features

The Samsung Galaxy M34 boasts a larger 6,000mAh battery compared to the Realme Narzo 60’s 5,000mAh battery. However, the Samsung phone has slightly slower charging capabilities (25W vs. 33W). Both devices feature a bottom-firing speaker and a 3.5mm headphone jack for wired earphones. They also support 8GB of virtual RAM. The Samsung model will receive four Android upgrades and five years of security updates.

Pricing

The Samsung Galaxy M34 5G starts at ₹17,999 for the 6GB RAM + 128GB storage variant, while the 8GB RAM model with 128GB of internal storage is priced at ₹18,999. The Realme Narzo 60 5G comes in different RAM and storage options. The base variant with 8GB RAM and 128GB internal storage is priced at ₹17,999, and the 8GB RAM with 256GB storage model costs ₹19,999. Both devices will be available for purchase starting July 15.
