From Group Star to Solo Storm: EVAN’s “DEATH OF ME” Lands a Powerful Billboard Debut

Going solo is a big gamble for any idol, and EVAN, formerly known as Heeseung of ENHYPEN, just proved it can pay off. His first mini album, “DEATH OF ME,” has entered the U.S. charts with real force.

DEATH OF ME: A First-Ever Solo Entry

On September 29 local time, Billboard revealed that EVAN entered the Billboard 200, the weekly ranking of the most popular albums in the United States, for the first time as a solo artist. “DEATH OF ME” opened at No. 49, an impressive start for a debut project.

DEATH OF ME: EVAN’s Chart Report Card

What These Numbers Really Mean?

The standout figure is No. 7 on Top Album Sales. It means “DEATH OF ME” was the seventh best-selling album in the U.S. that week, which points to a devoted fan base buying copies. Sitting at No. 2 on World Albums underlines its global appeal, too.

Then there’s the No. 1 debut on Emerging Artists, a chart that spotlights rising talent. It shows that EVAN is being recognized as a fresh solo name and not just a former group member. His No. 51 slot on the Artist 100, which tracks an artist’s overall popularity, adds to the momentum.

Why This Debut Matters?

Solo transitions in K-pop can be tricky. Fans have to follow an artist into a new chapter, and the music has to hold its own without the group’s brand behind it. EVAN’s numbers suggest both have happened. A strong first week can open doors to bigger stages, festivals and future releases.

This is also a reminder of how much K-pop’s reach in the U.S. has grown. Chart entries once considered rare are now increasingly common for solo acts.
