Dubai, 3rd February 2022: Garena Free Fire has collaborated with two of the Middle East and North Africa’s (MENA) young music artists – Skaymen and Naaoum – to produce an exclusive Arabic-language soundtrack to celebrate the launch of its brand-new, in-game campaign Squad BEATz.
To be released on 4th February on Spotify, Anghami, YouTube, and Apple music platforms, the verses of the original English song have been adapted to Arabic with the lyrics performed by well-known Moroccan rapper Skaymen, and popular Egyptian star Naaoum, bringing the track to life and inspiring the region’s Free Fire players.
The soundtrack, produced by BBTV MENA, touches on embracing future challenges, breaking down barriers, having the right winning mentality, and being motivated as ever to be successful. The song closes with references to ‘Booyah’, which symbolises victory in a Free Fire game.
The 3-minute song re-affirms Skaymen’s position as one of the leading creative rappers in the region, with his smash hit ‘Skaymen Vampire’ attracting a record hit of more than six million views on YouTube. Other key achievements during his impressive career include winning the Maroc Web Award, one of the country’s most significant awards.
Skaymen said: “When I first heard about the opportunity to work with Garena Free Fire for its new campaign, I was really excited, and it was one that I simply could not turn down. I really enjoyed every second of being involved in this soundtrack which is absolutely amazing and I hope my fans and Free Fire gamers enjoy it too and inspire them when playing Free Fire.”
The soundtrack is the latest in Naaoum’s career, who is better known for her songs ‘Fad Magales’ and ‘Keda Eib’, which helped boost her popularity in Egypt.
“It is a privilege to have partnered with Garena Free Fire for this song to celebrate their new campaign Squad BEATz,” said Naaoum. “It was a really enjoyable experience and I encourage as many of my fans and the Free Fire community in the MENA region to check out this fantastic song.”
On 12th February, Free Fire’s music video Squad BEATz will be released. True to Squad BEATz’s core, the theme song will showcase a unique blend of four genres – reggae, funk, pop, and K-pop.
These genres represent the four Free Fire characters of Squad BEATz– Alvaro, Notora, Shirou, and Kapella – who all often feel out of place and different from others around them.
In turn, this strengthens their resolve to prove and express themselves through other means, such as style and music. With their own unique cultures and personalities, Free Fire’s Squad BEATz embraces each other’s individuality as they battle their way through in Free Fire.
Just like Free Fire’s Squad BEATz, the upcoming campaign seeks to empower players in the MENA region to celebrate their individuality and unique personalities by expressing themselves through four vibrant in-game costumes, musical genres, and unique battling styles.
Free Fire fans and players can also look forward to expressing their unique fashion styles in the game while also battling together in style with their squad with a revamped interface, exclusive collectibles, as well as an exciting line-up of in-game missions.
