Four K-Dramas Just Hit Their Best Ratings Ever in a Single Night

August 9 turned into a record-breaking night for Korean television. Four separate dramas — spanning romance, thriller, and workplace drama — each posted the highest ratings of their entire run, and one of them didn’t just beat its own record, it beat every other show that aired that day.

Love on the Menu Breaks Through 15%

KBS 2TV’s newest romance drama delivered the night’s headline moment. Its sixth episode crossed the 15 percent mark for the first time, landing at 15.1 percent nationwide — making it not just a personal best, but the single most-watched program of any kind that aired that Sunday. For a show still in its early episodes, that kind of jump signals real staying power heading into the rest of its run.

The Husband Bows Out on a High Note

KBS 2TV’s crime thriller The Husband closed out its story the best way a drama can: with its highest rating ever. The series finale pulled in 8.5 percent nationwide, capping off its run on an upward note rather than fading out — a satisfying finish for a show that built its entire premise around a desperate rescue mission.

Spooky in Love Keeps Climbing

tvN’s supernatural romance-comedy Spooky in Love has been steadily building momentum, and its latest episode pushed that trend further with a personal-best 6.2 percent. For a genre-blending drama juggling humor, romance, and the occult, consistent growth like this suggests the story’s mix is clicking with audiences.

The Apartment Job Peaks Before Its Finale

JTBC’s dark comedy-thriller The Apartment Job also hit a new high, scoring 6.1 percent as it heads into its final week on air. Peaking right before the finish line is often a good sign — it usually means viewers are locking in for the payoff rather than drifting away before the ending.

Why This Night Matters

Four dramas hitting personal or series-best numbers on the same night is a rare cluster, and it points to a broader trend: audiences are actively engaged across multiple genres right now, from feel-good romance to workplace crime drama. For newer shows like Love on the Menu and Spooky in Love, these numbers suggest real growth potential in the episodes ahead. For The Husband and The Apartment Job, finishing at or near their peak is the strongest possible sendoff.
