“Four Hands, Two Sonatas” New Teaser Feels Like Found Footage From Your Own High School Years

Some teasers sell a drama with spectacle. This one sells it with nostalgia. tvN’s “Four Hands, Two Sonatas” just dropped a camcorder-style clip that looks less like a promo and more like footage someone found in an old drawer — and it’s exactly the mood the show needed to set.

What The Teaser Shows

The video is shot entirely in shaky, handheld camcorder style, set inside the music room at Korea Arts High School. It opens with Kang Pio (Song Kang) and Choi Jeong Yo (Lee Jun Young) grinning playfully at the camera, which Hong Jae In (Jang Gyuri) appears to be holding. Choi Jeong Yo shyly asks why she’s filming. From there, the clip drifts through everyday school moments — clips of the trio at the piano, smiling, waving, just being teenagers before life gets complicated.

Why This Format Works So Well

“Four Hands” refers to two people playing a single piano together — a fitting title for a show built around Kang Pio and Choi Jeong Yo’s decades-spanning friendship, rivalry, and romance. Choosing a shaky, home-video aesthetic for this particular teaser is a smart storytelling move: it makes the characters’ adolescence feel genuinely lived-in rather than polished and staged, setting up a sharper emotional contrast once the drama jumps forward into their adult lives as professional pianists.
