Flipkart CEO Kalyan Krishnamurthy called it “an India story,” pointing to first-time shoppers in Tier 3 and 4 markets and sellers from small-town craft clusters.
For context on the company behind the sale, you can read about Flipkart on Wikipedia.

Over 2.5 crore units of MSME, artisan and weaver products are already stocked in Ekart centres, so local businesses can reach customers faster.
AI Takes the Shopping Cart
Shoppers can search by text, voice or image, and a conversational AI assistant helps move from a vague need to the right product. A personalised AI feed surfaces relevant offers, while sellers get Creator Studio to turn catalogues into rich content.

The festive season has created 2.5 lakh+ direct and indirect jobs, nearly 75,000 of them for first-time workers. Women now make up over 20% of the supply chain workforce, and delivery partners get life, accident and health cover.
