Ibrahimovic, 36, scored 29 goals in all 53 appearances for the Red Devils but has played only 7 times since damaging crucial ligaments in April.

He tweeted “Great things also comes to an end and it is time to move on after two fantastic seasons with Manchester United. Thank you to the staff and everybody who shared with me this part of my history. #foreverred @Ibra_official”……..

Earlier this month, United’s manager Jose Mourinho had said the striker was likely to leave at the end of the season.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic has left Manchester United after the club agreed to terminate his contact early and signed for the MLS Giants LA Galaxy, as the 36 year old Swedish signs a two years, $3 million deal with LA Galaxy what is likely to be his last transfer of a long and distinguished playing career.

Ibrahimovic had agreed a one-year extension last summer despite a serious knee injury for the Red devils. His final match for United was on the Boxing Day clash with Burnley at the Old Trafford, in which he picked up another injury that has kept him out of action in 2018.

The former PSG, Barcelona, Juventus, AC Milan, Manchester United and International star returned in November but made only seven further appearances.

Ibrahimovic has retired from international football but is reportedly considering on making a return for the World Cup 2018, in Russia this summer. The MLS season, meanwhile, is already underway and Ibrahimovic’s first game could be live when LA Galaxy play on their local rivals LA FC on March 31.
