Felipe Anderson has decided to join Palmeiras after his contract with Lazio expires at the end of the season. The Brazilian joins Luis Alberto through the exit door, with both attacking midfielders leaving as free agents.

Anderson had a three-year contract on the table from Juventus, but decided to move back to Brazil for family reasons. He previously featured for Santos, having come through the ranks at the legendary club, and will now make the move back to the Brasileirão.

The attacking midfielder played for Lazio across two spells. First, from 2013 to 2018, and then from 2021 to 2024. He briefly joined West Ham United and spent a season on loan with Porto before returning to Italy.

This season, he has scored five goals and provided seven assists in 44 games across all competitions, helping the Albiceleste to the Round of 16 of the Champions League and the semifinals of the Coppa Italia.

At 31, it now remains to be seen how he fares back in Brazil, given the reasons behind his move.
