Family Full House: Rohit Sharma’s Surprising New Innings as a TV Host

Rohit Sharma has spent years reading bowlers and calling the shots on the field — now he’s learning to read a room instead. India’s white-ball captain is stepping into television for the first time, and the internet is already buzzing about his big career pivot.

What’s Happening?

The cameras have officially started rolling for Family Full House with Rohit Sharma, marking the cricketer’s debut as a television host. Sharing a behind-the-scenes glimpse from his first day on set, Rohit expressed excitement about experiencing entertainment from “the other side of the camera” — a role built on quick wit, spontaneity, and audience interaction rather than match strategy.

The show will premiere on September 19, 2026, airing on Sony Entertainment Television and streaming simultaneously on Sony LIV.

A Set That Feels Like Home

Interestingly, Rohit’s personalized lounge on set pays tribute to his cricketing journey. It features his iconic jersey framed on the wall, a “Hitman” carving etched into the rafters, and his helmet and bat proudly displayed — all set against a striking blue color palette that nods to his sporting identity even as he steps into a completely new arena.

Why This Matters

Rohit Sharma is one of India’s most recognizable sporting figures, and his crossover into mainstream entertainment television signals a broader trend of athletes expanding their public personas beyond the game. Whether his calm, big-match temperament translates into on-screen charisma remains to be seen — but early buzz suggests fans are already excited to see the “Hitman” in a whole new light.
