Recently we reviewed its Ignite S5 smartwatch and it was amazing, which is the reason why we also managed an exclusive interview with CrossBeats Co-Founder Archit Agarwal, with whom we asked some interesting questions. Tell us about Crossbeats’ journey and how the brand has made its mark in the Indian market.
Crossbeats was started in 2015 by Abhinav and Archit Agarwal. Crossbeats pioneered the development of personal audio gadgets in 2016. The company launched its first wireless earphones in 2016-17 venturing into personal audio. They introduced their Smart Watches around 2019-20 offering features like SpO2 Tracker (Blood-Oxygen Tracker) benefitting the customers amidst the global pandemic.
The brand has sold a million units of its products in 2022 and plans to increase production by 45% locally by 2024. Among the founders, Abhinav comes with hands-on experience in brand building, growth marketing, finance, and strategy, while Archit spearheads product development, operations, strategy, and team building.
In this highly competitive smartwatch market in India, how is Crossbeats making its impact?
Crossbeats has always focused on delivering innovative and flagship models to its consumers. Though the market for audibles and smartwatches is highly competitive, our hunger for producing feature-rich and aesthetically promising products has kept us afloat in the segment. Introducing newer products at strategic timelines with premium quality and not-so-heavy price tags has worked the magic for us so far.
How do your new products compete against market giants like boAt or Fire-Boltt?
Crossbeats has always focused on one thing right from inception, which is to ensure that we deliver an experience and not just a product to the end users. In the same light, our earbuds and smartwatches have always been unique and top quality when compared to the competition. Our team of engineers are avid tech enthusiasts who love exploring and creating newer products that appeal to the new Indian Youth, this is a primary factor that differentiates us from the competition.
Which Crossbeats product would you recommend to new-age smartwatch buyers?
Well, this would never be an easy pick since most of our smartwatches are purpose-driven and definitely cater to different segments of the audience. But at the moment, we would recommend the Ignite S5, since it is a fully loaded smartwatch with all the practical functionality the new-age customer will ever need. Right from Bluetooth calling, smart notifications, and music controls, the watch does hold a lot of ace cards on the health and fitness front too.
What is the future of the brand and strategy to make an impact in this highly competitive accessory market of India?
