Every Real (and MCU-Only) NYC Spot Peter Parker Visits in Brand New Day

Forget Europe or the multiverse — Spider-Man: Brand New Day brings Peter Parker back to street level, quite literally. The film is a love letter to New York City, weaving real locations with MCU-only creations to ground Tom Holland’s most emotionally raw outing yet. Here’s every stop on Peter’s journey, mapped out for easy reading.

Why Location Matters in This Spider-Man Story?

Unlike No Way Home‘s multiversal chaos or Far From Home‘s European detour, Brand New Day keeps its feet firmly on NYC pavement. That grounded approach makes each location feel personal — from a university lab to a decommissioned ship — as Peter juggles his mutations, his relationships, and a citywide manhunt.

The Story Behind the Settings

Some spots carry extra weight once you know the details. Empire State University marks Bruce Banner’s surprising shift into academia, something never shown in She-Hulk: Attorney at Law. The DODC Detention Center becomes the emotional core of the film’s third act, where Peter openly embraces being “both” Peter Parker and Spider-Man for the first time.

Meanwhile, Peter’s apartment — while entirely fictional in the MCU — got a real-world twist when Sony Pictures built a pop-up replica in Brooklyn, complete with Easter eggs like Peter’s old Midtown High Decathlon blazer. And the Golden Girl Brooklyn gives Jon Bernthal’s Frank Castle a surprisingly tender role, offering Peter and MJ shelter when they need it most.

Every one of these settings adds a layer of authenticity, reinforcing that despite the mutations, the mind control, and the multiversal history, this is ultimately a story about a kid trying to survive his own city.
