The 2018 World Cup finalists have almost no chance of making it to the Round of 16, and they are set to join Albania as the two teams eliminated from Group B.
Euro 2024 Group B: Italy leave it late to qualify

Croatia almost earned their first win at the Euros this year, as they progressed deep into injury time with a one-goal lead against the Azzurri. Luka Modric’s penalty was saved by Gigio Donnarumma, who dived the right way, but the Real Madrid veteran scored just seconds later, making up for the penalty miss.
Modric has now become the oldest goalscorer in the history of the Euros, aged 38. The midfielder was also given the man of the match award after the draw against Italy, but he couldn’t enjoy it fully as his side were all but eliminated at the group stage of the Euros.
