Get ready to say “Benvenuto!” because Emily Cooper is trading croissants for gelato! Emily in Paris Season 5 arrives on Netflix December 18, bringing all the fashion, romance, and drama fans love—but this time, with an Italian twist. After four seasons of Parisian adventures, Emily’s taking her marketing genius to Rome, and the journey promises to be her most complicated yet.

Emily in Paris Season 5 Quick Guide

What’s Happening in Season 5?

Emily’s big career move is finally here! The season picks up with Emily establishing Agence Grateau’s Rome office while navigating her blossoming relationship with Italian heartthrob Marcello, played by Eugenio Franceschini. But don’t worry, Paris fans—the City of Light isn’t gone for good.

Creator Darren Star describes the new season as a tale of two cities where Emily straddles both Rome and Paris, taking love and life to the next level. The trailer reveals Emily riding Vespas through Roman streets, exploring Venetian canals, and facing dramatic professional setbacks when a bold work decision backfires spectacularly.

Meanwhile, Gabriel finally realizes his feelings for Emily—but is it too late? The tension between Emily’s past in Paris and her future in Rome creates the emotional core of this season.

Cast Updates You Need to Know

Lily Collins returns as the ever-optimistic Emily alongside familiar faces like Ashley Park as Mindy Chen, Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu as boss Sylvie, and Lucas Bravo as chef Gabriel. However, one notable absence shakes things up: Camille Razat won’t return as Gabriel’s ex, with Star explaining her story reached a natural conclusion.

Exciting new additions include Oscar-nominated actress Minnie Driver as Princess Jane, Bryan Greenberg as Jake (an American living in Paris), and Michèle Laroque as Yvette, Sylvie’s old friend. These fresh characters promise to shake up Emily’s world in unexpected ways.

Why This Season Feels Different

Unlike Season 4’s split release, all ten episodes drop simultaneously—perfect for holiday binge-watching! The Italian setting breathes new life into the series, offering stunning cinematography of Roman ruins, Alpine vistas, and Venetian architecture that rival Paris’s iconic beauty.

Star wanted to prove the show has a bigger footprint beyond Paris, and early reactions suggest he’s succeeded. The season explores themes of work-life balance, second chances, and whether Emily can finally find happiness without conditions—something her character has chased since the pilot.

The Bottom Line

Whether you’re team Gabriel or team Marcello, Season 5 delivers the glamorous escapism that made Emily in Paris a global phenomenon. With 58 million households having watched the first season alone, this franchise shows no signs of slowing down. The Roman chapter promises fresh drama, gorgeous fashion, and the signature mix of romance and career chaos that keeps fans coming back.

Stream all episodes exclusively on Netflix starting December 18, and catch more entertainment news at TechnoSports TV Shows.
