After the launch of the iPhone 12 series, DXOMARK has tested it in different aspects to check the overall performance of this newest series of iPhone. Earlier this month, DXOMARK has tested the audio performance of the iPhone 12. In terms of audio, it has managed to score 73 points. Its predecessors iPhone 11 Pro Max had scored 71 points and the iPhone XS Max scored 74 points. As per a recent report, DXOMARK has published the result of the camera testing of the iPhone 12. Overall, it has managed to score 122 points on DXOMARK. Regarding the iPhone Pro Max, it has scored 130 points and the iPhone 12 Pro scored 128 points. So, what we can see here that the standard iPhone 12 slightly lags in its camera performance.
iPhone 12 features a dual rear camera setup which includes a primary sensor of 12MP (1.4µm pixels, f/1.6 lens), and a secondary sensor of also 12MP (f/2.4) supported by a dual-LED flash. this rear camera setup of the iPhone 12 is well capable of recording 4K videos at 24/30/60 fps, 1080p videos at 30/60/120/240 fps, Dolby Vision HDR videos(up to 30 fps).
In terms of the camera scores, the iPhone 12 has managed to bag 132 points for photography and 112 points for video shooting. But unfortunately, it has managed to get only 41 points as iPhone 12 has no telephoto lens. If we compare the iPhone 12’s camera setup to the other companies’ flagships, we can see that the iPhone 12 falls behind the flagships from Samsung, Huawei, Xiaomi, OPPO, etc. But the video performance is much better than those flagships. Apart from an average performance in photography, you can still capture some detailed images both outdoors and indoors, credit goes to its accurate and consistent autofocus, exposure, and colors (indoors). Moreover, you can record some cool videos with a wider dynamic range, natural skin tones, and effective stabilization at the time of walking.
