Dhadakpur is back on Prime Video, and so is its quirky crowd. Dupahiya Season 2 started streaming on October 1, 2026. Pinkvilla gives it 3/5. The verdict is that it’s easy and entertaining, but it can’t quite match the effortless charm of the first season.

What Is the Story?

The season picks up after the first one, with two big developments. First, a telecom company offers Banwari Jha Rs 2 lakh plus Rs 17,000 a month to install a mobile tower on his barren land. He badly needs the money after being suspended from his teaching job. But the deal stirs up envy and rumours in the village about the tower’s effects, and Pushplata even joins the protest against it.

Second, Roshni is determined to clear her SSC exam. With help from Amavas and Bhugol, she tries to find a shortcut through a fixer, but things take an unexpected turn when Kuber ends up helping instead. Add a seven-day deadline, and the villagers are caught in the middle.

What Works?

The biggest strength is still the world of Dhadakpur. The village feels real and grounded, with rustic production design and familiar dynamics. The clash between old beliefs and new technology, especially in the mobile tower track, creates several funny moments. The seven-day countdown adds urgency, and characters like Amavas and Roshni get meatier arcs. The dialogue has some wit, and the background score fits the light, satirical tone.

What Doesn’t Work

The main complaint is a loss of freshness. The writing tries too hard to recreate the chaos that worked before, so some gags feel forced instead of coming naturally from the characters. The humour is uneven, with a few jokes stretched too far. The screenplay also gets crowded with subplots, and the romantic track lacks depth. The countdown becomes predictable, and the pacing sags when the story moves away from the tower and exam conflicts.

The Performances

Gajraj Rao remains the standout, with easy comic timing and warmth as Banwari. Sparsh Shrivastava is sincere and energetic, and Shivani Raghuvanshi keeps her role grounded. Bhuvan Arora brings charm, and Renuka Shahane adds warmth. Nirahua fits into the village, though the review says his role deserved more space. For more on the lead, see Gajraj Rao on Wikipedia.
